What would be a nice relaxing color for a retrieving massage room?
Bleh22 asked:
I was wondering if you guys can suggest a color that you find very calming and relaxing for a massage room. Something that would make your mind wonder to different places, nice places, beautiful places, places you’ve never been too before. I also need a color that everyone would like. I am thinking of grassy green, but I am not so sure it is the right choice. Please give me your feedback, thanks!

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the “painted” rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:
I think “peacock plume” (# 0020) might be a good choice.
You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:
You can get color suggestions & for $5 they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

A subtle or grassy green and cream colored scheme is very relaxing. Green is a calming color…Make sure you get a few samples of various shades to see what looks best in your lighting conditions!

Studies show that greens and blues in hues similar to nature are the most relaxing.

I tend to like the lighter shades of greens and blues for a few reasons. First, they are neutral colors that men and women both like (I presume that you’ll have male and female clients). They are also relaxing colors for both the client and the therapist.
Also, by going with some lighter shades you will still have enough light to see when you use dimmer lighting.
I’ve found that working in massage rooms with darker colors means I need 3 times as much light in the room just to see.
