What is a good massage school in Oregon?

Me asked:

I am currently looking into going to massage school. I interviewed both Anthem and Everest Colleges. Everest is 20k and Anthem is 13k. Everest has a “spa” program that makes up for the additional fee, but Anthem teaches spa as well, just not in depth …
Both of the schools start February 1st and I can get financial aid for either. I just wanted to know if anyone out there has any thoughts on either of these schools. Thanks!

This is Jon B. from Everest. Feel free to ask around on our internet communities. You can get some feedback from actual students and grads this way.

I don’t know anything specifically about either school, but I have a few recommendations.
First off, visit both schools in person. You will get a feel for the place, take the tour, and of course ask lots of questions! Compare the education at each school, which is more in depth, or which teaches what you really want to learn about? Talk to students who go there currently and ask what they like and dislike about the school. Ask for the names of former students who are currently in the field practicing, and give them a call and ask about the school. The school that has good feedback should be the best choice for you!

And a side note, if the main difference between programs is a $7000 dollar “spa” program, I would say skip it! Most spas use certain “treatment protocols” for their spa stuff like scrubs, wraps, muds, etc and will teach you how to use their products accordingly. There are also many CE course available for you to learn from, or that you can take in the future.
