Can I start a traditional Indian massage establishment in Houston without a state license?
curious asked:
My friend was running an ‘Ayurvedic Hospital’ in India. He recently moved to Texas. He would like to know whether he can start a traditional (Indian traditional - Ayurvedic) hosptial in Texas. Is there any license required? How can he get licensed? He is ready to study in a massage therapy school if needed, but will it help him to start a traditional massage center. Will he able to prescribe traditional medicines to any body without license?

unless he is planning to do this in his own home then he WILL need a business license and i’m sure other requirements as well
U of H have a business development center that can assist him in getting him started/setup for this type of service
Also tell him to go to the local SCORE office
